I have two rules: (1) Respect all others and all things. (2) No gum.
I am a stickler for instructions. I mean what I say, and I say what I mean.
First and last names should appear on every paper and every used side of the paper. Failure to do so could mean the loss of surprise extra credit or points on an assignment.
I expect both parents and students to check PowerSchools on a weekly basis.
It is also an expectation that both students and parents sign up for (and read!) the Remind account.
All final papers and projects must be completed in ink. They can be typed/printed, or handwritten in pen. However, computer or printer failure will not be an excuse for turning in an assignment late. If not completed in ink, it will be counted as a rough draft.
Under no circumstances will I ever accept an assignment electronically.
I love answering questions! Please email with any concern, and raise your hand, too!
A new big thing in 8th Grade: “The question not asked.” Meaning, when you’re asked, “What is your favorite color?” The actual questions is, “What is your favorite color and why?” Even if an explanation isn’t asked for, one is still expected. Don’t forget that!
We will be discussing and reading about social issues this year such as genocide, suicide, and the struggles today’s teens face. Our novels also contain curse words. With maturity, kindness, and open minds, my classes haven’t struggled with this. I hope to continue that tradition.
The thing I love most is doing my job. My job is to give you tools to succeed. As a bonus, I also get to love 120 children every year. I’m so thankful you’re one of them!
